This Old Remedy is sure to sooth any old seasonal symptoms. It’s a fantastic winter recipe for using lemons to help with colds, bronchial conditions, or sore throats. It’s also just super delicious!
What you will need:
10 Lemons
1/4 Cup Baking Soda
3 Litres of water
Half Bunch of parsley
1 tsp honey, ¼ tsp cinnamon
Take 10 lemons, soak them overnight in water and ¼ cup of baking soda.
The next morning rinse the lemons and take 3 or 4 and zest them, set aside the zest.
Bring to boil 3 litres of water and cut up all the lemons and throw the lemons in the water plus half a bunch of parsley.
Boil that mixture for 3-5 hours, bring to boil and then simmer until you have reduced your liquid by 1 litre. Let stand until cooled.
Once cooled strain the lemon pulp through a cheesecloth, or fine strainer. Lastly add the zest that you set aside previously and then refrigerate the juice.
Now you have a concentrated powershot of a nutrient rich energy booster. This shot is designed to sooth the throat and bronchial, as well as stimulate the liver, lymphatic system, and digestive tract.
Take 2 oz as a shot(3-4 times per day, or as needed), and a spoon of local honey sprinkled with ¼ tsp of cinnamon.
Honey and Cinnamon have been found to be an amazing antioxidant powerhouses and cinnamon also has anti-inflammatory properties. The honey and cinnamon can be pre-mixed ahead of time and also used with any herbal tea and lemon to enhance the benefits of the tea.
